User levels: Every registered user except myself and Moderators start at level 1 - "Fresher". It's not supposed to be offensive, quite the opposite, it's supposed to encourage you to be more active and get involved in conversations on this board.
Your member level changes in line with the number of posts. Progression in member levels is virtually endless.

Right below username and member level (look on my member field to your left) you might also notice so called:
'stars' (squares in our case). These also get added and change colors with every X number of your posts. I have added this option as a sort of meter independent from member levels. Moderators and admins get them as well.

The last thing in your user field, above squares/stars is
Avatar - Avatars are small graphical images that you add personally in your profile. They are displayed below your username on all posts that you make. These are optional of course. You need a minimum 15 posts to be able to have an Avatar. Make your own and then upload the image that best describes yourself by clicking on "profile" (top of the screen)-->Edit Options-->Change Avatar (bottom of options screen). Please avoid using duplicate avatars as the other members - all of you should appear as a unique, easily recognisable user instead of 50 members with Homer Simpsons face :). Avatars should not be bigger than 50x50 pixels. Easy.. next:
PM - stands for Private Messaging. It allows you to send personal messages to other registered members of this board. This feature does not use mail, instead it's set to utilise internal engine - member to member directly. No one except you and your party can read PM messages, myself and Moderators included.

Rating - if you find any posts exceptionally helpful or want to point others to the thread use the 'Rating' feature located in the bottom right corner or the page. BB automatically counts only one vote per user and page. When there is more than 5 unique votes you will notice a graphical display of the score next to the popular thread.

Reporting posts to moderators - If you find a post vulgar, racist, intentionally aggressive or/and breaking notorious rules of this board you can use "Report this post to Moderator" option and one of us will moderate/delete the post in question ASAP. Submissions are anonymous.

Buddy and Ignore list You can also add users to your Buddy list (Profile menu). Among other things it will notify you when your favourite posters read BB at the same time as yourself. I will research the possibility of adding real-time chat to fully utilise this feature.
And vice versa, if any posts from a particular user drive you bonkers you can add him/her to your ignore list. Users can be added/removed to your lists at will.

Away system If you are planning to leave for as while you can leave 'away' note via simple interface in CP --> User Options. The 'away' note will be cancelled automatically next time you post, start a thread or send private message. You can also disable it manually once you return.

That's all folks, enjoy it
