This receiver is what I would recommend to my own father - hassle free, solid performer with simple and clear menus, two slots for expansion and embedded Viaccess. Never had any problems with it, never had any crashes, embedded cam worked with any card and even my wife could find her way through the menus (and she normally needs two tutors and months of training for every remote control we have in the house).
The only thing that bothered me was low sensitivity of the tuner. I like to move my dish around and check feeds from time to time, and my Echostar simply could not find most of them. Even with dish position set to Astra or HotBird, satellites I receive without problems, some radio and TV channels couldn’t be found in automatic search. Same with secondary audio pids on some channels.
About three months ago I sold it to a friend and I do regret it after all.
