Opinion No. 1 By Zan "The Edge" from Rotterdam [Netherlands]
Pros: Pros: Loads of features, and AC3 finally works with latest OS. Box's been stable since my upgrade to 12-88 beta...
Cons: Cons: Cams. Irdeto gets stoned every time you jump between satellites. And no TPS with Mediaguard :(

There's been a lot of bad things said about it in satcritics review, but i feel this is not all true. Granted, you would expect this box to work for your money, but things are getting better for 1200S. Latest OSes do improve things for a change and Micronik has a chance to be first ever to bring 4xCI module on the market in March. Mind you - this box is DisEQc 2.0 ready too. I feel 1200S is definitely something worth having (if you can pay the price off course).

I bought Micronik 1200S with blue VFD (OS 12-78) last year. Since then I've spent more time on the phone to Micronik than actually watching TV, all to get rid of that nasty Enrique Iglesias in Conzert(pardon me - i mean - "out of tune") syndrom. After four months i finaly sent my box back for repairs and they replaced power unit, which was apprently to weak to handle some MAMs and causing sound problems. So it only proves what - that i paid them 1300DM for testing their product! Well, satarmy [ED: URL link removed], where i bought don't seem to be seling them anymore anyway.

Two months after our editorial review of this box and ten OS revisions higher, Micronik 1200S is not the same box. There are no longer problems with sound desynchronisations, lockups are almost gone. Receiver still has a slight tendency to loose embeded CAMs on some channels, but that could be blamed nore on providers anti-piracy precautions than anything else. This box slowly, but definitelly becomes a damn sharp shooter. Still pracey, but hey - i would rather spend money on Micronik than any of the ancient Echostars.
