Receiver has great design , 2 Common interfaces and LED display, so outside it is nice, it has simple RS 232 connector with 3 scarts, TV Scart, VCR scart and Scart for connection of Analog Receiver, we also have possibility to lead the lnb cable from receiver futher to analog receiver and watch both, analog and digital, it also has 3 special connectors for audio and video, with any of this i had no problems! Now we go inside, the software. Multilanguage OSD - great! We can select time...language...signal strenght can be setup with sound so when you are searching some satellite manualy you can find sygnal by sound intensity- really good. Now the search menu, we have 2 options Advanced and Standard, standard is search of all transponders what are stored in Radix memory, for example, Astra has 50 transponders and all of them are searched, if you want more frequencies you have to add them manually, it does not search like Humax, it is preety fast...it find channels in 20 minut!
es...and now the surprise, only FTA channels are find if you dont have decoder...what if you want to see what are the encrypted channels? - go to advanced search! here you enter your values, simple - it can find all you need..the smallest SR i could find with this receiver was 2121 so i guess this is high grade for it. If the channel is encrypted it has small (S) sign right next to it, no messages on middle of the screen. Changing names is really bad, you have to select your letter by pushing up or down...so sometimes it gets really bad!...Deletion is simple, select only one channel or whole group from 4-190, in one move all of them are deleted, the same thing is with moving channels.. EPG is nothing special..but if you want to know what is next on tv you can see it, teletext is supported, but subtitles are not. when you delete channel you are tuned on you will expirience problems...why? - well i guess receiver thinks he cannot delete channel i am watching right now so he ge!
ts confused and waits for an 10 minutes or so,and then it resets itself and you can loose all data on it (all channels) and you have to start again..or it just wont delete anything, this happens only with tv channels. the safest way is to tune on to channel you wont delete and do the job (silly)...options are great, has small problems with some cams (irdeto) and newer ( bug-free ) version of software is even worse than original . there is no parental lock control and all channels can be easily deleted by entering code 9815...easy as i say :), sometimes there is heat problems and it frozes, but after reseting it works fine, it should not work when temperatures are over 35°C. Remote is ok, but not estetical and sometimes it gets really iritating when you cannot find what you are looking for... This is good recever by hardware, but it was destroyed from perfection by software.
