Lost in space
Astra 1K, the fourteenth Astra series satellite, launched last night at 11:04 GMT from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan failed to reach its orbit due to malfunction onboard Proton launch vehicle. The logs indicate Block DM upper stage failed second burn and the satellite was separated into parking orbit and did not reach planned hight.
Made by Alcatel Space Astra 1K, the biggest European telecom satellite made to date was heading towards orbital position of 19.2
