SES and GE Americom form new alliance.

Another ground breaking press release from the SES Group reached the media this week. Statement headlines:
- SES Global S.A., a newly formed company headquartered in Luxembourg, is to acquire 100% of GE American Communications Inc., Princeton, NJ stock and other assets in US$5 billion transaction consisting of US$2.7bn in cash and US$15.4mn shares in SES Global.
- General Electric Capital Corp. is to become a strategic shareholder in SES Global, holding 25.1% economic interest and 20.1% voting interest.
The transaction combines the resources of both companies creating one, global service provider with a fleet of 28 own (11 Astra and 17 Americom) and 13 co-owned (including 3 AsiaSat, 3 SIRIUS, 5 Brasilsat) satellites over Europe, Asia and both Americas.
