Merger of Tele+ and Stream official.
Merger of Vivendi Universal's Telepiu with News
Corp's/Telecom Italia's Stream is official.
Group chairman Jean-Marie Messier in an interview with French Les Echos confirmed that "Group have reached agreement on a merger of Telepiu with Stream on the basis of existing subscriber numbers (...) Canal+ will own two thirds and Rupert Murdoch (News Corp) a third of the new entity which will keep the name 'Telepiu'".
AFX reports Messier said his group was considering a similar merger in Poland with its main competitor, United Pan-European Communications NV (UPS).
