Mediaguard II on its way.
 Canal Plus Technologies Chairman and CEO Francois Carayol confirms immediate roll out of the new Mediaguard II cards.
In an interview for Dow Jones Newswires on Wednesday Carayol said "Spain, Italy and Poland are the three countries where we have the highest problems," "Canal Plus this year plans to roll out a new version of its smart card to subscribers, beginning next month in Spain and continuing through the end of the year. Italy and Poland are to follow Spain as Canal Plus attacks the biggest trouble spots first".
It is estimated around 3 million pirate cards could be in use in Italy and the numbers for Spain and Poland may be as high as 4 million and 1 million respectively.
